Lauren Gaskill shares her story of God’s faithfulness through battling anxiety, receiving a difficult diagnosis, and starting a new women’s ministry.
Lauren Gaskill is an author, speaker and founder of She Found Joy. She is in the process of publishing her first book, Into the Deep: Diving Into a Life of Courageous Faith. Diagnosed with an incurable genetic disorder (Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome), Lauren is passionate about encouraging others to fight for faith and keep hope alive — no matter what. When she’s not writing, Lauren loves to cook, bake and go on hikes with her husband and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who is affectionately named Reese after Lauren’s favorite candy, peanut butter cups.
As a culture and as the church, we have confused anxiety with worry.
When my life wasn’t getting better, I got bitter.
We want things now, but God is a God of process.
I have walked through some pretty deep waters with God, and the fact that I’m still swimming with Him today is a miracle in itself.
Just because we have faith and have survived a battle doesn’t mean we won’t face another one at some point or another.
God is the ultimate one who keeps us afloat, but we can also help each other out by linking arms and not being afraid of reaching out.
Gratitude leads to joy.
You can’t have joy without faith.
Obedience is not always easy, but God is always faithful.
