Ellie Holcomb shares her story of surrendering to God’s call to become a professional musician and how she encountered His faithfulness through following that call.
Singer-songwriter, and now author, Ellie Holcomb began her musical career touring the country with her husband in the Americana band Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors. Her honest voice and rich lyrics shined on her first solo album and deemed her the Best New Artist at the 2014 Dove Awards. In 2017, she followed with the restorative, hope-inducing Red Sea Road. Ellie, her husband, Drew, and their three children live and make music in Nashville, Tennessee.

I sensed God asking me, “Would you go back into the church and be a mess in front of people and proclaim my power in the middle of messes?”
I’m so grateful I didn’t let fear keep me from following where He wanted me to go.
At the end of the day I wanted to give a surrendered “yes” based on the faithfulness of God.
There was this sense that God was inviting me on an adventure.
I felt God saying, “You are my daughter, and I am going to take such good care of you.”
God calls us to lean in and to love people who are sometimes hard to love.
We were all made by a really creative God. He made each one of us to create beauty and light and love and send that out into a weary and dark and broken world.
How can we sing, not just with our voice, but with our lives?
When we are real and authentic and show up with a surrendered “yes,” God is there!
